Getting Started with Arcturus Vision Camera App
Learn how to install the app and start recording and playing back 3D spatial videos.
■Install the App
1. Turn on your Steam Frame and sign in to your Steam account through the Steam app.
2. Search for “Arcturus Vision Camera” in the Steam app and select “Add to Library.”
3. Open “Library” and enter “arc” in the search bar.
4. Select “Arcturus Vision Camera,” then select “Install.
■How to Use the App
ーLaunch the App and Use the Controller
1. Open “Library” on Steam Frame and search for “Arcturus Vision Camera.” Select “Arcturus Vision Camera,” then select “Play.” Wait for the app to launch in your headset.
2. Hold either the left or right Steam Frame controller and point it at the button you want to select.
3. Point at the “Record” button and press the controller trigger once to select it.
Note: When you point at a button on the screen, its outline will become brighter to indicate that it is highlighted. Make sure the button you want to select is highlighted before pressing the trigger.
ー Open the Recording Screen
1. Point either the left or right Steam Frame controller at the “Record” button on the app’s home screen.
2. When the “Record” button is highlighted, press the controller trigger once to select it.
3. Wait for the camera to start and the recording controls to appear.
ー Start and Stop Recording
You can start and stop recording using either the controller shortcut or the in-app controls.
Note: When “READY TO RECORD” appears on the screen, the app is ready to begin recording.
1. Press either the left or right controller thumbstick straight down until it clicks. Alternatively, point at the red “Record” button in the app and press the trigger.
2. Once recording begins, the “Record” button in the app will change to a square “Stop” button.
3. To stop recording, press the thumbstick straight down again, or point at the “Stop” button and press the trigger.
Note: You can start and stop recording using the thumbstick on either controller. Make sure to press the thumbstick straight down until it clicks.
Note: Press the “View” button on the left controller or the “Menu” button on the right controller to return to the app’s home screen.
Note: Immediately after you stop recording, the app will process and save the recorded video. Before leaving the recording screen, wait until the app is ready to record again.
ー Keep the Camera Level While Recording
A level indicator appears on the recording screen to help you keep the camera level.
The orange line in the center moves with the tilt of your Steam Frame headset. The light yellow markers on the outside indicate the true horizontal level.
1. Face your subject and keep your head naturally upright.
2. Slowly tilt your head left or right until the outer markers align with the center line.
3. Hold this position briefly. When the tilt is within approximately 1 degree of level, the markers and center line will align into a single line and then fade out.
4. Keep your head level and start recording.
Note: If the level indicator reappears, your head has tilted out of level. Realign the markers with the center line before continuing to record.
ーPlay Recorded Videos and Samples
Recorded videos are automatically added to the gallery.
1.On the “CAMERA” home screen, point at “Examples/Gallery” and press the controller trigger.
Note: If you are on the recording screen, press the “View” button on the left controller or the “Menu” button on the right controller to return to the app’s home screen.
2. Point at the thumbnail of the video you want to play. When the thumbnail is highlighted, press the trigger to open the video.
Note: If the gallery has multiple pages, select “＜PAGE” or “PAGE＞” to move between pages.
Note: To close the gallery, select the “X” in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Note: Videos with an “EXAMPLE” badge are pre-installed sample videos.
■Video Playback
Select the thumbnail of the video you want to play from the gallery to open it.
ー Switch Between Previous and Next Videos
・Previous video: Press “←” on the D-pad of the left controller, or press the “X” button on the right controller.
・Next video: Press “→” on the D-pad of the left controller, or press the “B” button on the right controller.
ー Change or Reset the Viewing Mode
・Switch viewing modes: Press “↑” on the D-pad of the left controller, or press the “Y” button on the right controller. Each press toggles Immersive Mode on or off.
・Reset the view: Press “↓” on the D-pad of the left controller, or press the “A” button on the right controller.
・Return to the gallery: Press the “View” button on the left controller, or press the “Menu” button on the right controller.
